About TypeWeakness

TypeWeakness is a focused, fast reference for one question every Pokémon player asks: what is this weak to? We do one thing — type effectiveness — and try to do it better than anyone else.

• A Pokémon type calculator that works for any single or dual type, and for every Pokémon by name.
• A weakness chart and a full 18×18 type chart, rendered as plain HTML so they load instantly on any device.
• A deep-dive page for each of the 18 regular types, and per-Pokémon weakness guides.

How we keep it accurate

Nothing on this site is typed out by hand. Every matchup is generated from one structured dataset of the 18×18 type chart and each Pokémon's typing. Before each release, the build automatically checks the full chart against an independently verified reference table, and re-checks known Pokémon (such as Charizard's 4× Rock weakness) — if a single cell disagrees, the site is not published. Our approach to Pokémon IP

We use factual game-mechanics data and Pokémon names for identification only. We do not host official artwork, sprites or screenshots; the visual style is our own. TypeWeakness is a fan project and is not affiliated with Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc. or The Pokémon Company.
